Dubai International Airport is fully operational for the first time since its closure due to the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. The airport is one of the busiest airports in the world. In 2020, about 25.9 million travellers used the airport, a 70% drop from more than 86 million people who used it in 2019. The UAE — made up of seven emirates including Dubai — has pushed a comprehensive vaccination campaign for its nearly 10 million population.
