Rishi Sunak, the British politician who has emerged as one of the top candidates to compete for the post of UK PM is lagging in the race to become the next PM. While Sunak emerged victorious in the leadership ballot among Tory MPs, he faces a tough challenge in gaining the support of the Conservative Party’s rank and file that will over the next month select the future PM, and so far seem to favour his rival, Liz Truss. The result of the vote to decide who will replace Boris Johnson as the next British Prime Minister is due on September 5.
