New map reveals 3,00,000 undiscovered galaxies in Universe

A map published by a team of over 200 astronomers, including Indians, has revealed three lakh previously undetected light sources thought to be galaxies. The data comes from a radio survey of 2% of the sky using Netherlands-based Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) telescope. Astronomers said they expect to find 1.5 crore radio sources in total by surveying the entire Northern sky.
