Global Internet population grows to 3.2 billion

The number of people worldwide with Internet access reached 3.2 billion at the end of 2015, but the remaining 4.1 billion still could not get online, a Facebook-sponsored study showed.
More than 500 million people have access to data packages that offer 500MB per month. This has been made possible because of lowering data prices and the increase in global incomes.However, the world is a long way away from ubiquitous connectivity. More than 2.7 billion people still don’t have mobile phone subscriptions despite mobile being the gateway to connectivity in many parts of the world.
