India’s first 7-km-long undersea tunnel to come up in Mumbai


India’s first undersea tunnel will be constructed in Mumbai as part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed bullet train corridor. The seven-km-long undersea tunnel will be built at Thane creek. The tender process for the construction of a 21-km long underground tunnel, including the 7-km undersea stretch, has begun, it is expected to take around 5 years to complete the tunnel.
