The world’s first SMS sells for €107,000

The world’s first SMS that reads “Merry Christmas” has been sold for over 91 lakh as a non-fungible token (NFT) at an auction in Paris on 21st December. Vodafone engineer Neil Papworth sent the SMS from his computer to a manager in the United Kingdom on December 3, 1992. The SMS was put up for auction by British telecommunications company Vodafone.
