The world’s first ship tunnel to be built in Norway

Norway has received the go-ahead to construct the world’s first ship tunnel to help vessels navigate the treacherous Stadhavet Sea. First announced a few years ago by the Norwegian Coastal Administration, the 118-feet-wide tunnel will be built under the mountainous Stadhavet peninsula in northwestern Norway. It will cost around $330 million to build the tunnel expected to complete in 2025-2026.
