Lt Gen Chandi Prasad Mohanty to take over as new Army Vice-Chief

Lieutenant General Chandi Prasad Mohanty will assume the charge of the next Army Vice-Chief on February 1. The 1982-batch officer from the Rajput Regiment, who is presently the Southern Army Commander, will succeed Lieutenant General SK Saini on his superannuation. Lieutenant General Mohanty has vast operational, logistics and administrative experience in varied command and staff appointments. Lieutenant General Mohanty has served across a wide spectrum of terrain and conflicts, along the fronts with both Pakistan and China. He has also been a part of the counter-terror operations in the Northeast and Jammu and Kashmir.
