The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the novel coronavirus has been officially named ‘COVID-19’. “The first vaccine could be ready in 18 months,” WHO chief Tedros Adhanom said. The virus, which originated in China, has claimed more than 1,000 lives there and infected over 42,000 people globally.
