Rohit Sharma has set the world record for scoring most international runs by an opener in a calendar year, achieving the feat during the third ODI against West Indies on 22nd December.The 32-year-old overtook former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya, who had scored 2,387 runs in 1997. Former Team India opener Virender Sehwag follows Rohit and Jayasuriya, with 2,355 runs (2008).
