Leading the Kenyan clean sweep at Great North Run, Brigid Kosgei has set the record for running the fastest women’s half-marathon in a time of one hour, four minutes and 28 seconds. The record was previously held by her compatriot Joyciline Jepkosgei, who took one hour, four minutes and 51 seconds in 2017. Kosgei had also won this year’s London Marathon.
