Indian women lose title but win hearts

England beat India to lift the ICC Women’s World Cup title at Lord’s in London. Despite the runners-up finish, the Indian women cricket team have done the entire nation proud with their brilliant performance in the tournament. Even though the women in blue could not lift the coveted cup, reaching the finals is a big achievement in itself for the young Indian side. The Mithali Raj led team has played extraordinary cricket in this tournament and certainly deserve a pat on their back for showing undying spirit and true passion against the best sides in the world. This is the second times India have finished as the second-best team in World Cup final, they had earlier lost in the finals to Australia in 2005.
