China has launched a new generation supercomputer prototype Sunway that can execute a quintillion (a thousand raised to the power of six) calculations per second. The prototype was put into operation recently.
It was developed by the National Research Center of Parallel Computer, National Supercomputing Centre, and the Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology.
