World number one Rafael Nadal has become the first male tennis player in the Open Era to win the same title 11 times in his career. The 31-year-old achieved the feat by defeating Japan’s Kei Nishikori to clinch his 11th Monte Carlo Masters title on 22nd April. Nadal also overtook Serbia’s Novak Djokovic to clinch most Masters 1000 titles (31).
