Delhi-Varanasi bullet train to cut travel time by over 9 hrs

The government is considering a Delhi-Varanasi bullet train, which will cut the travel time by 9.5 hours to 2.5 hours. The 720 km Delhi-Varanasi stretch is expected to be operational by 2031 and cost nearly ₹53,000 crore. Other proposed high-speed rail projects include the 1,474.5 km Delhi-Kolkata corridor, which is estimated to cost ₹1.21 lakh crore, and the Delhi-Lucknow corridor.
