Former captain Anil Kumble has been named the head coach of the Indian team for a one-year period. The decision was made after BCCI’s advisory panel consisting of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman interviewed 21 candidates for the job. Kumble, who is the third highest wicket-taker in Test cricket history, played for India from 1990 to 2008.
