Thailand is preparing for Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to ascend the throne on December 1. Former King Bhumibol Adulyadej died on October 13, following which the government has declared a year of mourning. The prince’s formal coronation, however, can take place only after the late king’s cremation next year.
