MIT researchers have developed low-cost sensors that enable smartphones and other wireless devices to detect toxic gases. Researchers claimed that the sensors can detect less than 10 ppm of toxic gases in about five seconds. This technology can help soldiers on the battlefield to detect the presence of chemical weapons and people who work around hazardous chemicals prone to leakage.
