India’s first indigenously built Light Combat Aircraft Tejas has been inducted into Indian Air Force on Friday, as a part of squadron 45 ‘Flying Daggers’. Two aircraft were added to the squadron, which will get 18 more by 2018. The LCA project’s initial permission was granted in 1983 and the aircraft is expected to get its ‘final operational clearance’ by year-end.
