China’s Da Hong Pao tea more expensive than gold

The Da Hong Pao tea grown in the Wuyishan region of China is now the world’s most expensive, at $1,400 per gram, over 30 times its weight in gold. The tea is believed to be so expensive because hardly any of the original group of mother trees are left. The attempt to grow the tea elsewhere has failed.
