The world’s first ever Earth Day was celebrated on April 22, 1970, in the United States of America to increase public awareness about environmental problems. It was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson. While the United Nations officially celebrates Earth Day on March 21 every year, more than 193 countries take part in the celebrations on April 22.
