Skymet, India’s private weather forecaster has said that India’s annual monsoon rains this year are 35% likely to be above average. The body also claims that the July to September monsoon period, which contributes 70% of India’s rainfall, may experience rainfall 105% above the nation’s long-term average. Notably, ‘El Nino’ is likely to weaken, triggering above average rainfall in the country.
