Indian-American wins Japan’s Okawa Prize for research in imaging

Shree K Nayar, an Indian-origin computer science professor at Columbia University, has been awarded the Okawa Prize from the Okawa Foundation of Japan. The foundation said Nayar is being recognised for “the invention of innovative imaging techniques and their widespread use in digital photography and computer vision”. He’ll receive the prize at a ceremony to be held in March 2023.
