Malaysia’s King Al-Sultan Abdullah has declared a state of emergency across the country to curb spread of COVID-19 on Tuesday. The King consented to a request from Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin as the latter is facing a leadership challenge. The emergency will last until August 1 or earlier depending on the status of COVID-19 infections.
