Japan’s Sanrio, which owns the Hello Kitty franchise, has appointed 31-year-old Tomokuni Tsuji as its new President in the first leadership change in its 60-year history. He’ll replace his 92-year-old grandfather Shintaro Tsuji, who founded the company, on July 1. Coincidentally, Tomokuni shares his birthday with Hello Kitty – November 1 – but is 14 years younger than the character.
