NASA has announced a new mission under which it plans to send the VIPER rover to Moon’s south pole to map the location and concentration of water ice in the region. NASA said it aims to actually sample the water ice for the first time ever. Notably, Chandrayaan-1 had helped NASA confirm the presence of water on Moon’s south pole.
