Zuckerberg apologizes to UK lawmakers over data breach

Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg has apologized in front of UK lawmakers in European Parliament to address data breach by Cambridge Analytica. While conceding that the social network hadn’t done enough to stop data privacy, Zuckerberg said he was “sorry” for mistakes made by Facebook for use of personal data. The Facebook data breach had hit 2.7 million European Union(EU) citizens. Zuckerberg had appeared before the US Senate Intelligence Committee on data breach last month. The EU has put new rules on data protection in place under which companies will be subjected to fines of up to 4 per cent of global turnover for breaching them.
