Nestlé to buy Canadian vitamin maker Atrium for $2.3 billion

The world’s biggest food company Nestlé has agreed to buy Canadian dietary supplements maker Atrium Innovations for $2.3 billion. Atrium has about 1,400 employees and its 2017 sales are expected to reach almost $700 million. The deal is Nestlé’s biggest acquisition in medical nutrition since it acquired the nutrition business of Novartis in 2007 for $2.5 billion.
