At least 15 nationshave joined the Powering Past Coal Alliance to phase out the use of coal by 2030. Led by the UK and Canada, the alliance was launched at the UN climate summit in Germany. Some of the world’s biggest emitters such as China, Germany, India, and Russia, did not join the pact.
