More than 1,000 US spies are working with Brazil’s security forces to protect the US athletes and Olympic Games from terror threats. While 800 personnel are working from bases in the US, over 350 have flown to Rio, including Navy and Marine Corps commandos. They add to the 1,30,000-strong pool of police, soldiers, naval personnel and guards covering the Games.
