Weather stations in Mitribah, Kuwait and Basra, Iraq reached 54ºC last week, which is touted to be the highest temperature ever recorded on the planet’s Eastern Hemisphere. Notably, the highest temperature ever recorded in the world is 56.7°C, measured on July 10, 1913 at Greenland Ranch, Death Valley in California.
