Researchers at the University of Nottingham have crafted regenerative tooth fillings that enable the tooth’s own stem cells to regenerate and repair the damaged tissues. The technique can eventually avoid the need of the root canal treatment, where the filling material does nothing other than protecting the pulp of the tooth – one of the four major components of teeth.
