New method can save data in living cells

According to a recent report, Harvard University researchers have developed a method to record molecular events in living cells. For this, researchers used a bacterium’s built-in immune system – CRISPR. This would allow the modified bacterium to pass on the information to the next generation. The advancement may aid in creating bacteria that could be used as sensors, researchers said.
