Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has become the first batsman in the history of the Ranji Trophy to cross the 10000-run mark.
Jaffer also holds the record for most number of centuries (35) in the 81-year-old competition. The Vidarbha batsman is also the leading run-scorer in Duleep Trophy and Irani Trophy.Jaffer started his domestic career in 1996 with Mumbai and continued contributing for the team’s success till 2014-15 season. In this year’s competition, Jaffer chose to play for Vidarbha. Jaffer has scored the runs at an impressive average of 58.14.
