Elephants are incredibly smart, emotionally complex animals. They can do something that no other wild animal has been proven to do — they get what we mean when we point at something. A wild elephant with no training understands what a human is trying to communicate when we point. They seem to possess a natural ability to interact with humans despite not being domesticated in the same way as horses, dogs and camels. Elephants are known to make regular prominent trunk gestures. Various studies have observed elephants showing signs of what appears to be grief over dead companions and of cooperating with each other. They never cease to amaze us with their intelligence.
