The oldest fossil ever found of a modern bird skull has been identified by scientists — who have dubbed the creature the ‘Wonderchicken’. The Wonderchicken is thought to be an ancestor of today’s hens and ducks. The fossil has been dated back to almost 67 million years ago — meaning that the birds lived alongside dinosaurs for around a million years before the latter died out.
