Lego family to buy Legoland and Madame Tussauds owner for $7.5 bn

A consortium led by the family that controls toymaker Lego has agreed to buy UK’s Merlin Entertainments for $7.5 billion including debt. Merlin operates theme parks including Legoland and counts Madame Tussauds wax museums and the London Eye among its attractions. Last year, Merlin had 67 million visitors at its more than 120 attractions across 25 countries, including India.
