US President Donald Trump has announced “hard-hitting” new sanctions on access to key financial resources and support on Iran and its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The sanctions follow Iran shooting down an unmanned US drone last week. He said the US would “continue to increase pressure on Tehran”, adding that “never can Iran have a nuclear weapon”.
