India has voted in support of Israel at the UN’s Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) to deny observer status to a Palestinian organisation named ‘Shahed’. The organisation claims to deal with human rights and humanitarian issues. However, Israel claims that ‘Shahed’ is a terrorist organisation and operates as an arm of the Lebanon-based Hamas terror group.
