A study led by a University of Chicago scientist has found pockets of seawater dating back to the Ice Age some 20,000 years ago, tucked inside rock formations in the Indian Ocean. This is reportedly the first-ever discovery of direct remnants of that ocean. The discovery was made on a months-long scientific mission exploring limestone deposits that form the Maldives.
