The Australian Open has increased its total prize money purse for the 2017 tournament to $36.19 million (over Rs.245 crore), 14% more than it was in 2016. The winners of the singles tournaments will be getting over Rs.27 lakh. Notably, the total prize money for the Australian Open has more than tripled since 2001.
